To find homes for shelter cats and kittens while supporting animal sheltering organizations so they are not faced with unnecessary euthanasia decisions and to support community cats through TNR.
Lucky Cat Adoptions is a small nonprofit organization formed in January 2005 to help cats and kittens in Jacksonville, Florida, and the surrounding areas. In 2005, municipal shelters around us had not embraced Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) for community cats or other lifesaving strategies and were euthanizing more than 90% of cats entering shelters. Our goal was to help as many cats and kittens as possible so that humane euthanasia was reserved for medical cases beyond hope to end their suffering.
Through years of hard work and collaboration, animal welfare has transformed in our area and euthanasia has decreased dramatically. Today Lucky Cat Adoptions focuses our limited resources on helping cats in rural shelters around Florida and South Georgia while helping those shelters implement lifesaving strategies to avoid euthanasia.
All of the cats and kittens we have for adoption are available for you to meet daily at 12 area PetSupermarket stores. They are sterilized, vaccinated for their age, microchipped and current on preventive care. We do not have our own shelter and instead pull cats and kittens weekly from neighboring shelters around Florida and South Georgia as we have space available.
The adoption process is quick and easy, so stop by any of the following locations to adopt today:
Lucky Cat Adoptions is a small, all volunteer organization that relies solely on donations to continue our mission of finding homes for homeless cats. Providing veterinary care such as spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchips, preventive care and other medical care to make cats ready for adoption is our largest expense. As a 501(c)3, our lifesaving success depends on the individual, business and planned giving donations we receive. We thank you, the generous members of our community, for your support and concern for the homeless cats we all love. We realize that our efforts on behalf of the cats would not be possible without you.
Monetary donations to Lucky Cat Adoptions are tax deductible as allowed by law.

If you work for (or have retired from) one of the many companies that will match employee donations to Lucky Cat Adoptions, you simply need to contact your company’s matching gift office to request a matching gift form (this will help us properly process your donation) and send the “matching gift form” to us along with your donation. Please note many companies also match contributions of retirees and employees’ spouses. Please check with your employer to see if they will match your gift to Lucky Cat Adoptions.
Due to the limited amount of space in our adoption cages and the overwhelming number of cats and kittens in shelters needing help, we are unable to take in any new fosters from private citizens. If you have a cat or kittens that need help or are looking to re-home your own pet, please visit the Jacksonville Humane Society’s Pet Help Center to learn about resources available to you. If you have found a free roaming community cat (friendly or feral) who does not have an ear tip, contact FCNMHP to TNR the cat and return it back to the neighborhood after surgery.
